Nasiru Musa Yauri hails from Yauri in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Nigeria. At different points in time, he attended Wara I Primary School, Wara, Sabongari Primary School, Yauri, Abarshi Secondary School, Yauri, State College of Arts and Sciences, Sokoto, and Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. In the course of that academic sojourn, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies (Second Class Upper), Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Economics and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Management Science. He joined Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto in 1996 as a Graduate Assistant and rose to the rank of Professor in 2012. At Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto he held many positions: Examinations Officer, Coordinator of Sub-Degree Programmes, Coordinator of Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PDM), Coordinator, Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Head of the Department of Accounting, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UDUS Branch and member of its National Executive Committee. He has also served as Chairman and member of various committees in Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He is now Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship Development, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and Head of the Department of Business Administration, Federal University, Gusau. Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri was Vice Chancellor of Katsina University, Katsina (now Alqalam Univeristy, Katsina); he is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Katsina Islamic Foundation (KIF), owners of Alqalam University and Member of the Governing Council of Alqalam University. In 2017, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria appointed him Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Ede in Osun State. In 1992, Nasiru Musa Yauri was selected Best Speaker of the Students’ Convocation Debate in Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. In 2000, he was the best graduating student in the M.Sc. Economics programme at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He is a Fulbright Scholar and was a visiting researcher at the University of Maryland, College Park, United States of America where he completed his Ph.D. dissertation using data from the World Bank in Washington DC. He is a British Council trained facilitator for the Active Citizens and other educational programmes. He is also a member of the American Research Institute (ARI). Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri has at various times been a Consultant to Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Nigeria, Women’s Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA), the Independent National Electoral Commission, Abuja, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Global Rights International, Nigeria, the UK Overseas Development Institute (ODI), and the African Union Commission, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has presented over 60 papers at various workshops and staff development programmes. Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri has travelled widely. Some of the countries he has visited include, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Africa, Kenya, Togo, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom and United States of America. He is married with children.
